Beyond OCD, the leading provider of consumer-friendly resources designed to help people cope with and ultimately get beyond Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), announced that Susan A. Richman, Esq., its co-founder, will speak at an upcoming conference.

The June 3 conference, Managing AnxietyMaximizing Life for Children, Adolescents and Adults, is sponsored by the Naomi Ruth Cohen Institute for Mental Health Education at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Anxiety disorders are the most common psychiatric illnesses affecting children and adults. An estimated 40 million American adults suffer from anxiety disorders, according to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America. OCD is an anxiety disorder.

Susan Richman will speak about her remarkable experience in searching for the right diagnosis and treatment. At the age of 28, she developed Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and was unable to work or manage her life until finding appropriate treatment. Ms. Richman has dedicated her life to helping others with OCD.

I resolved to help other people with OCD learn how to control their symptoms and reclaim their lives, said Ms. Richman. I co-founded Beyond OCD to provide information on treatment options and support systems to people with OCD, their families, and the health care providers who treat them, she continued.
