In my 18 years of experience working and observing clients who have PTSD, I have never found an easier solution for PTSD than EEG biofeedback, also known as, neurofeedback training.

Neurofeedback, specifically alpha-theta protocol, is a training process that has been scientifically-proven to improve PTSD. It helps with issues that people develop as the result of dysfunctional family systems, grief or trauma. Beta-SMR protocols work more on issues that one was either born with or developed after brain damage. To use an analogy:

Beta-SMR protocols works to improve the hardware
Alpha-theta works to improve the software

Commonly question about An Easy Solution for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder or PTSD

Question :

I received 2 wildly disparate diagnosis s, how can people hear the same thing have such different answers?

After going to two different Dr s., one said I had bi-polar disorder, AD HD, and brain damage (due to a few too many concussions). The other Dr. said "the diagnoses are Borderline Personality with Major Depressive Disorder, Mixed Personality Disorder with Antisocial Behavior, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Alcohol and Drug Dependency Recovering. The prognosis is poor. The GAF (Global Assessment of Functionality) is 20.
Is this because of when they went to school they were taught more thoroughly (approx. 45-50 yrs. ago) compared to 10-15 years ago?
Personally, I think the younger guys (roughly my age) are just using the flavor of the month (not to mention the easier & shorter) answer! Probably the drug reps incentives have something to do with the easy-answer guys decision?
The real kick in the *** is that Social Security paid for the visit to the Dr. who gave me the more plausible answer, and he is not a Gateway participating provider.
Is there any hope of landing a competent Dr. with Gateway? Am I doomed to keep dealing with crackpots (crackheads)? Or should I just take a month s worth of hypertension pills?
I have a 30 yr. history of suicidal thoughts/behavior. Some previous attempts included barricading myself in a room and swallowing 300 aspirin, hanging myself, bridge jumping, defenestration, lying my head on railroad tracks, agitating dangerously unstable people (bikers and cops etc.), various "accidental" overdoses, and my favorite... wrapping aluminum foil 20-30 times around my head and climbing an oak tree during an electrical storm.
So I ve probably heard all the trite advice like "It s a permanent solution to a temporary problem".
Temporary my ***! The problems grew exponentially upon entering (chronicalogically) adulthood. Severe problems getting and keeping even crappy low-paying jobs. Repeated evictions due to mismanaging insufficient funds. Inability to maintain friendships. Friend counter currently sitting at zero for last 4-5 years. I.Q. dropped from 129 to 104 over last 30 yrs. Attention span GONE! This is the longest thing I ve written in at least 10 yrs.
I try to find the (inapropriate?) humor in everything, but laughter being the ONLY medicine is not enough. (it s sort of like drowning, only instead of air I m gasping for laughs.) I ve been on many psychiatric meds over the years, (I had such high hopes when Prozac was introduced!) none worked.
WHAT THE HELL SHOULD I DO?
Answer :
Quite often it takes more than one visit to make a differential diagnosis.
These doctors probably only made a preliminary diagnosis.
I hope you will be able to choose one and trust that as the doctor gets to know you, a more accurate diagnosis will be made.
Best Wishes to you.
Question :

My mom says that she only lives for me and feels lonely?

So where do I start? I m not very social myself, but I have a few people that I meet sometimes, and I go to school so I get to meet my classmates. Personally I enjoy being alone a little, just not too much.

The thing is that my mom hasn t had very good luck with friends, neither has she had any luck with meeting guys. (Wrong men)
And she is pretty weak right now, she has chronic pain and post-traumatic stress disorder. She keeps telling me that she only thing that matters in her life is me. All she wants is to be with me.

However It s not that I don t like my mother, It s just that I can t be with her ALL the time. I want to be with my friends whenever I can t (which is not too often). My parents are separated so sometimes I go on vacation with my father to his place of birth.

Anyway, what can I do about this? How do I go about making her life more enjoyable?
Of course there s the easy solution: me being with her, but that s just temporary. What permanent solutions are there?
She says she feels lonely. She used to like cooking food and painting but now that she s pretty weak she doesn t feel like doing much.
Need I say that she is early retired? That means that she won t be around the working type of people.

What I think is that she should try to get occupied with something, or try to get some better friends. Any idea where or what?
My mother is 45 & I m 17.
Answer :
well this is tough you should talk to your mom and ask what she wants you to do.....maybe get her a pet for the loneliness and perhaps get her involved in some sort of club where she can have some human companionship besides you......also you should tell her how that effects you and that you would really love it if she made some friends

sorry if this was bad advice

hope things work out

Answer :
View the techniques for control of panic attacks, in section 8, at ezy build, below. Begin by holding your breath for 5, or 10 seconds: this will give you the confidence to realise that YOU CAN CONTROL YOUR BREATHING, but not pass out, or die (your autonomic nervous system resumes breathing, if unconscious). Understand panic attacks, and what triggers them, in your life (if it is unresolved anxiety, see section 6). The paper bag method works for most people: try it. If you are fairly suggestible, the following are reliable: http://www.hypnosisdownloads.com/
Your last alternative is psychotherapy, to address its fundamental cause: read section 1, and examine the http://www.1-800-therapist.org/ website, and use the locators, and phone book. I used to suffer from panic attacks, until I questioned what had changed recently in my life, to trigger them? I suggest that you learn, then practise the controlled breathing technique, until competent, then employ it, at the very first sign of a panic attack. Practice one of the relaxation methods on pages 2, 11, 2c, or 2i, daily, and when needed. Also, give the EFT a good tryout, to see if it helps you. There is also a version for use in public places, (if you like, you can claim to have a headache, as you massage/lightly tap your temples, but you would then be restricted to subvocalising: saying it to yourself in your mind). Section 53, and pages 2, 2.q and 2.o at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/shaneris also refer: "Even though I sometimes suffer from panic attacks, I deeply and completely accept myself." View Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/shaneris on pages 33 - 34, and examine the http://www.1-800-therapist.org/ website, and use the locators in section 1, and phone book, and/or various associations for psychiatrists and psychologists, to find the nearest one using EMDR therapy. See anxiety treatments, at ezy build (below) in section 6. Set yourself a fixed limit for worrying about any particular subject, (say; 10, or 15 minutes) after which, resolve firmly to refuse to even consider that subject again on that day: realise and accept that to do otherwise would be counterproductive to your mental health, and enjoyment of life. Use the technique for reprogramming negative thoughts and internal monologue (self talk), on pages 2, and 2L, to help you in this: some people carry a wide rubber band in their pocket: put it on their wrist; stretch, and release, as a means of reinforcing it, and speeding up the process, re-pocketing it afterwards, but I regard this as being purely optional. Section 53, and pages 2, 2.q and 2.o at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/shaneris also refer: "Even though I sometimes suffer from anxiety, I deeply and completely accept myself." ADD is addressed in sections 22 - 25. Everyone should take the Omega 3 supplements, or preferably "krill oil" for its other health benefits: use the searchbar at http://www.mercola.com/
